MEOWIE PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY IN ELIZABETH'S ARMS JANUARY 25, 2018. WE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR THE 13 WONDERFUL YEARS MEOWIE GAVE TO US. WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU MEOWIE OR EVER STOP LOVING YOU.
Meowie and Lizzie Forever
For as long as I can remember I wanted to have a cat for a pet. My parents had always said no, that having our dog Lady was enough. This one particular day my dad was returning home from working out of town to celebrate my 8th birthday. As usual, my sister and I ran to the door to greet my dad. This time however, I stopped dead in my tracks from shock when I saw two orange ears followed by whiskers start to poke out from my dad's winter coat. My mom told me she will never forget that moment and the look of surprise on my face.
It was love at first sight. I could hold Meowie in the palm of my hand. We did everything together. We played house, chased mice, watched movies and snuggled. He was and still is my best friend. Meowie saw me through the high school dramas of my life as my trusted confidant. 12 years later and many (maybe too many) Fancy Feast meals later Meowie is still my number 1 guy. I haven't been able to hold him in one hand for a long time but he has held me in the palm of his paw from the start. Meowie requires constant love, affection, food, and the status of knowing he is KING. Whenever my boyfriend is around or I leave my King for an overnight trip Meowie will play "hard to get" upon my return, but at the end of the day he follows me around and to my room for a good night's sleep. Meowie's personality is such that a roommate who does not care for cats garners his full attention when arriving home from school and now only Meowie is allowed special access to her room.
My growing up years would not have had the light they did without Meowie. No other birthday present will ever bring the same joy as Meowie has brought to me.
